School Daze Week of October 3, 2016

Hi Everyone,

Yes! I am a few days late but I would like to reiterate a few things for the upcoming week.

Tomorrow night (Wednesday) is our field show rehearsal for the upcoming Salem Band Show (Saturday October 8, 2016) .  Unfortunately, we will not be able to get on the stadium field until 6:30 p.m. as there is a rescheduled soccer game against Pinkerton. My plan is to work feverishly and intently from 6;30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m.. Please have your student musician dress for the weather - Yes, Fall is here and the night air can be chilly.
I am going to try to schedule a Friday night rehearsal. If I have too many students who cannot attend due to other commitments then we'll continue with our regularly scheduled Saturday rehearsal.
Please see below (This is from a previous post).

The following is a schedule of events for the day regarding the Salem Band Show on Saturday October 8, 2016. If the event is cancelled because of inclement weather (this has happened before) we will be notified by noontime. We will honor the rain date of October 9, 2016 and perform on Sunday.   Sunday’s performances will begin at 2:00 p.m.  We will meet at Alvirne for 11:00 a.m. for a quick run through.

Ok, that's the BIG NEWS for this week! Don't forget to visit the Alvirne High School Friends of Music Facebook page for a lot of "other" information. Oops, one last thought - The Friends of Music General Meeting has been moved to October 13 @ 7:00 p.m. in the music room. Please attend as there is a lot of information especially about Disney and FUNdraising.

Have a wonderful week.

Mr. B

A FINAL THOUGHT ABOUT THE SALEM BAND SHOW - PLEASE have your students dress for the weather. I would suggest for them to bring gloves/mittens, a jacket and even a blanket as it does get chilly when the sun goes down.  Money is important as they will be able to go to the concession stands. I know that everyone is WORRIED about the weather - LET'S WAIT AND SEE  and try not to PANIC. Mr. Claussen will let us know by noontime on Saturday if the show is cancelled and if Sunday will happen due to the impeding storm (that I hope will go out to the Atlantic).

Other important events for the upcoming weeks. Thursday Night is our Fall Parent Conferences. I have a pretty full dance card so if you were not able to schedule an appointment with me please email me so that we can set up a time the following week.

Don't forget the FOM General meeting is Thursday October 13 @ 7:00 p.m. the agenda will have items like the AHS v. BG away game, Step Up Night and Senior Night, as well as information for the Woburn Halloween Parade on October 30, 2016.

Finally - if you have not made your September payment for Disney YOU ARE LATE!  Remember it is important that payments be made according to the payment  schedule. Failure to do so will cause us to delete your student from the list.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
