School Daze Week of December 12, 2011

Concerts are over but are we truly winding down?

This past Wednesday (Dec 7th) and Thursday (Dec 8th)  brought the Hudson Community together as the Alvirne High School Music Department celebrated the Holiday season through their concert series. Check out the photo gallery and You Tube videos.   I would personally like to thank all of the Friends of Music volunteers who truly made this concert series an event. Congratulations, to all the Holiday Basket winners. I also want to thank the band students for the wonderful roses (for Mrs. B), the gift certificate, my piggy bank( so that I can start saving for my sojurn to Alaska) but more importantly my fish.
Yes, they did survive and here is the proof.

The next Quebec trip payment is due this Friday December 16.  Students and Chaperones please be prompt. I  have received a few email inquiries with regards to Student Trip Scholarship accounts -  be patient -  once a fundraiser is over it does take time for our fundraiser volunteers to get the information to the FOM treasurer.  I'm certain by the next statement everyone will be caught up.

We have approximately 100 jazz band CD's still available if anyone is interested. The cost of the CD is $5.00 for this live,  not mastered version. You may contact my office directly if you are interested.  These are  great stocking stuffers along with the calendars. Speaking of which - there is only 2 weeks left to sell those calendars, scroll down the blogs to get all the information.

This Thursday the jazz band will be "on tour".   The jazz students will be  performing at the various elementary and middle schools throughout the district.  Friday, December 16 the jazz students will be hosting a "Holiday Gift Wrapping" at Barnes and Nobles in Nashua. If you have some last minute literary items, CD's or DVD's make certain that you have the Jazz Band students wrap them. All donations will go towards our "Euro's for Europe" fundraiser. FOM parents of  Jazz Band students we will need your help as well. Our time slot is from 6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. Monies will be divided up amongst  those students that work the gift wrapping table. Speaking of Euros for Europe, I will have a letter in the mail before the end of the week with fundraising details to date (except the Jazz Band performance at Barnes and Nobles).

Band for Hire - IT ROCKED!  Remember book early for 2012.

Today, was a very special day! Mrs. B and I activated our I Phone 4s.  The only thing I can tell you is that they are activated and we know "how to" turn them on and off :-)
Not really, the fish picture was taken with my I phone.

Practice logs are back and progress reports will be out this week!
So, on this happy note I bid everyone a good night!

Stay warm!

Mr. B
